Jeremy Sacha (Director) Dip. LA., MLI., Dip. ISM
Jeremy is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute with a Diploma in Landscape Architecture. He also has a Diploma of the Institute of Supervisory Management.
Jeremy has 30 years experience as a Landscape Architect working for Local Authorities in Glasgow, Somerset and Oxfordshire. He has worked mainly with Planning and Leisure departments but has experience across the public sector. Dealing primarily with urban and rural landscape design, arboriculture, ecology, development control and local plans (now LDF), he also specialises in landscape character and visual impact assessment.
Jeremy joined Andrew in 2007 to set up Sacha Barnes Associates, convinced of the need for private consultants who have recent experience of Local Authority Services. All Local Authorities strive toward providing excellent services, but at times their limited staff resources can be overstretched and they need to bring in temporary / Interim support. This need will often occur when there are staff shortages due to sickness, extended leave, periods between recruitment and when dealing with particularly large projects. Sacha Barnes are ideally placed to provide this support with a comprehensive ‘Interim’ landscape service.

Andrew is a fellow of the Institute of Sport, Parks and Leisure with a Diploma in Parks and Recreation and the Diploma of Recreation Management of the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management. He has a Diploma in Horticulture of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and is a Member of the Institute of Horticulture and the Arboricultural Association.
Andrew has 45 years experience in the landscape and recreation profession. The first twenty-seven years were spent in local government, mainly in planning departments, with responsibility for landscape, recreation, arboriculture and countryside matters. Before forming Sacha Barnes Associates in 2007 Andrew was the Director of Andrew Barnes Associates, Landscape Consultants, engaged in landscape design, arboriculture, horticulture and recreational consultancy, and as an expert witness at planning inquiries on behalf of public and private sector clients.
Andrew is very proud of his professional reputation as a consultant and has a wealth of experience in both the public and private sector. He has maintained a very loyal client base and constant workload, so much so, that over the last twenty-one years he has never had to advertise his services.
Miriam Sacha (Director) Office Manager
Miriam is our Office Manager and so much more. She also provides marketing and administrative support and handles all account matters, vital for the smooth and successful running of the business.
